Event Details/Other Comments:

The conference is organized by the Institutes of Mathematics of Technical University Ilmenau (Germany) and University of Zielona Gora (Poland).
It will take place in the Institute of Mathematics of Polish Academy of Science, Conference Center in Bedlewo, about 20 km from Poznan. The number of participants is restricted to about 60 in order to maintain a powerful "workshop" atmosphere. We also try to keep the costs low to make the conference accessibly for young researchers.
Prefered topics:
* Smooth Smooth and Nonsmooth Optimization,
* Variational Problems and Variational Inequalities,
* Optimal Control.
Other topics are not excluded.
Preliminary list of invited speakers:
Moritz Diehl (Heidelberg), Adjoint Methods for Fast Optimal Control with Inequality Constraints
Krzysztof C. Kiwiel (Warsaw), the title will be announced later
Friedemann Leibfritz (Trier), Theory and Application of Nonlinear Semidefinite Programming
Stanislaw Migorski (Krakow), Modeling, Analysis and Optimal Control of Systems Described by Hemivariational Inequalities
Andrzej Nowakowski (Lodz), Sufficient optimality Optimality Conditions Conditions for Multidimensional Control Problems
Nikolai Osmolovskii (Warsaw), Second Order Optimality Conditions for a Control with Continuous and Bang-Bang Components.
Stefan Volkwein (Graz), Proper Orthogonal Decomposition Surrogate Models for Nonlinear Dynamical Systems: Error Estimates and Suboptimal Control
Andrea Walther (Dresden), Automatic Differentiation and Equality-Constrained Optimization
